  • 4 steaks, between 7 and 8 ounces – you can choose your preferred steak here.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 4 tbsps butter
  • 6 lightly crushed garlic cloves
  • 6-8 sprigs of thyme or rosemary 

Directions

  • Heat a pan or skillet over medium-high heat, and coat the steak in 1 tablespoon of oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook the steak for 1-2 minutes on each side, and sear the sides.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low, and add two tablespoons of butter along with 3 cloves of garlic and 3-4 sprigs of thyme. Let the butter foam a little.
  • Add cloves of garlic to the top of the steaks and baste using the butter – continue to baste while cooking.
  • Remove the thyme and garlic, add the steaks to the plate, and put over the juices. Rest for 5 minutes.

2. Ribeye With Garlic Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless ribeye steaks
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 3 Tbsps butter, divided
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Directions

  • Remove the steaks, and allow them to rest while you preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  • Brush whole surface sides of the steak with oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Place a skillet over medium heat with a tablespoon of oil, and heat until shimmering. Add the steaks, and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side.
  • Place the steaks in the oven on the other side for around 4-6 minutes.
  • Remove the steaks from the oven, add to a plate, and place a tablespoon of butter on each. Cover with foil and rest.

  • 2 lean steaks 
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp thyme chopped

  • 1/3 cup of soy sauce 
  • 1/3 cup of lemon juice

  • Create a marinade for your steak with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to a large bag, and add the steak. Allow to marinate overnight if possible, and for a minimum of 2 hours if not.
  • Preheat the oven to high, remove the steak and place it on a baking dish. Broil for between 5 and 6 minutes on the first side, and 3 to 4 minutes on the second.
  • Allow to rest for 10 minutes, slice, and serve.

  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley leaves

  • Combine ingredients in a bowl, and sit for 5-10 minutes.
  • Season steaks with olive oil and salt, and grill on both sides over medium to high heat for 2-3 minutes for medium-rare, 4-5 minutes for medium, and 4-5 minutes for well done.
  • Add steaks to a tray and allow to rest for 5 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bottom round steak, sliced into 1/2″ thick slices
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp pepper or to taste
  • ½ cup flour all-purpose
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1 tbsp parsley freshly chopped

Directions

  • Use a meat tenderizer or fork to add holes to both sides of each slice of steak. Add salt and pepper to each slice of beef.
  • Add flour to a shallow bowl, and dredge each slice of beef.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a pan, and heat over medium-high heat. Add the steak, and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove the steak and set to one side.
  • Add the rest of the oil to the pan, and cook the onions for 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

Ingredients

  • 4 New York Strip Steaks
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsps rosemary chopped
  • 2 tsp coarse sea salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
  • Combine balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and wine together in a pan, and stir well. Continue to heat over a medium to high heat until boiling.
  • Reduce to a simmer and continue to cook until the sauce reduces by around half, and has become thick and syrup-like.
  • Add olive oil to each steak, top with salt, rosemary, and garlic, and allow to marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Heat a skillet over a high heat for around 4 to 5 minutes, and then add the rest of the oil and the steaks.
  • Sear each steak for around a minute and a half, and then place the steaks in the oven for between 4 and 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, allow to rest, and then slice and serve with the red wine and balsamic vinegar.

12. Filet Mignon In Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 16 oz baby bella mushrooms, thickly sliced
  • 1 diced onion
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dry thyme
  • 24 oz filet mignon, 6-8 oz each, about 1 1/2″ thick
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions

  • Add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 teaspoon of oil to a pan, and cook over medium to high heat. Add the mushrooms and cook for 6 minutes, then add the onions and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring regularly.
  • Add the thyme, garlic, and pepper to the pan, and cook for around 2 minutes.
  • Transfer the mushrooms to a plate.
  • Use a teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper to season the steaks, add to the pan, and cook with 2 tablespoons of butter, and 1 tablespoon of oil.
  • Add the steaks, and sear for 3-5 minutes on each side.
  • Add steaks to the plate with mushrooms.
  • Add ½ cup of red wine and boil down until reduced. Add 1 ½ cups of beef broth, and boil for around 5-7 minutes. Add ½ cup of cream and boil for 2 minutes.

Directions

  • Add pepper, salt, flour, onion, and garlic to a small bowl, and then add the cube steak and cover all the sides.

  • 4 tbsp grease
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2 to 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Directions

  • Add the paprika, a teaspoon each of salt and pepper, flour, onion powder, baking soda, baking powder, and garlic powder to a bowl and set to one side.
  • Assume the Tabasco sauce, buttermilk, and eggs to another bowl, whisk together, and set aside.

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce 
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1tbsp Aji Amarillo paste
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 medium red onion, sliced into ½-inch wedges
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, seeds removed and sliced into ½-inch wedges
  • Sliced scallions/chopped cilantro, for serving
  • Oil
  • Cooked French fries + rice, for serving

Directions

  • Marinate by adding a tablespoon of soy sauce and half the garlic to the beef and marinate for 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the rest of the sauce, red wine vinegar, and oyster sauce to a small bowl. Add cornstarch and Aji Amarillo paste, whisk and set to one side.
  • Add a tablespoon of oil to a skillet and brown the beef for 1-2 minutes on each side. Remove to a placate and add the onions to the pan, cooking for one minute before adding the garlic and the rest of the tomatoes, sauteeing for a minute.
  • Add the beef to the pan with the french fries, drizzle with the sauce, and toss.
  • Top with scallions and serve with warm rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds flank steak, butterflied
  • 3 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese

  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups pasta tomato sauce or marinara sauce, divided

Directions

  • Butterfly the steak with a sharp knife.
  • Add the spinach, cheese, tomatoes, basil, garlic, and pepper to a mixing bowl, and mix well.
  • Add ½ of a cup of the tomato sauce over the steak, and top with the spinach mixture.
  • Roll the flank and secure with twine. Brush with oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the rest of the tomato mixture to the top and the edges of the steak, and bake for between 35 and 40 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the twine, slice, and serve with fresh parsley.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 1/2 onion
  • 5 green onions
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1.5 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 4 dried red chilis
  • 4 Tbsp oil, divided

For The Marinade

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Chinese wine (optional)
  • 6 tsp cornstarch or 1 tsp xanthan gum
  • 1 tsp baking soda

For The Sauce

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce or tamari sauce (see also ‘5 Tamari Substitutes‘)
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup Chinese wine (optional)
  • 5 Tbsp brown sugar (see note 1 for keto options)
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch or 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
  • 2 Tbsp water

Directions

  • Slice the beef thinly, and add to the marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Mix all the elements together well.
  • Chop the opinions, separating white and green, and chop the garlic and ginger. Cut the chilis into strips.
  • Mix the chicken stock, soy sauce, Chinese wine, and brown sugar together. Then, mix the cornstarch and water in a separate bowl.
  • Add soil and the meat strips to a wok, and sear for around 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and add to a plate.
  • Heat the remaining oil and add the onion, stirring, and cooking until softened. Add the red chili, garlic, and ginger and stir, and then add the sauce mixture, including the cornstarch. Mix together and allow to simmer.
  • Add the meat and the green onions
  • Serve hot with rice.

26. Smothered Round Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 ½ – 2 lbs of beef round steak, boneless
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

  • 2 ½ cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp dry onion soup mix

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F
  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, and add the steak. Cook for 5 minutes on each side, and remove from the pan to set aside.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Add the onions and mushrooms and cook for around 5 minutes, before adding the garlic and cooking for around 30 seconds.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce and broth and stir well, and then add the steaks and juices. 
  • Sprinkle dry onion powder over, and add rosemary and thyme.
  • Cover the dish, and bake for 2 ½ to 3 hours before removing and covering with foil to keep warm. Remove the herb sprigs.
  • Thicken the gravy over a medium-high heat, and then add half the cornstarch to thicken further. 
  • Slice the steaks, cutting against the grain, and spoon the gravy over the top.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 2 Tbsp sofrito

Directions

  • Combine the marinade ingredients, and then cut the steak into strips. Marinate for a minimum of 4-5 hours.
  • Heat oil in the skillet on a medium-high heat, and seat the steak on both of the sides until brown. Add the marinade, along with 1.5 cups of water, and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the sofrito and tomato sauce, cover, and cook for 40-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
  • Saute the onion rings, and add these to the cooked steak in the last 5 minutes.
  • Serve with rice 

32. Steak Diane

Steak Diane is another classic favorite, but this amazing recipe will help you kick things up a 

notch and enjoy an amazing, mouthwatering meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 filet steaks 
  • 25g butter
  • 1 thyme sprig
  • ½ tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 large or 2 small shallots, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tbsp brandy
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 200ml strong beef stock
  • 3 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 1 tbsp chopped tarragon

Directions

  • Season the steaks with salt on both sides.
  • Heat the butter over a medium-high heat, and add the thyme. Add the steaks, and turn every minute over the course of 6-10 minutes, depending on your preference. Remove from the heat and leave to rest.
  • Scatter the pepper over the butter and thyme, toss for 1 minute, and stir in the shallots, cooking these for another minute.
  • Increase the heat, and splash the brandy in to flambe the shallots. Then, reduce the heat and add the Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Allow to cook for a minute, add the stock, and bring to a boil for two minutes.
  • Add the creme fraiche (see also ‘6 Substitutes For Creme Fraiche‘), and simmer until creamy.
  • Remove the thyme sprig and return the steak to the pan, adding the sauce to the top.
  • Add the tarragon if desired and serve.

33. Pastrami-Style Steak And Mustard

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp mustard – English tends to be best
  • 2 x 250g steaks – opt for ribeye or sirloin

  • 50g butter
  • 150g sauerkraut

Directions

  • Combine the mustard and mayonnaise and set to one side.
  • Add oil and butter to a pan and cook on a high heat before adding the steaks. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, continuing this for up to 10 minutes, depending on your preferences.
  • When cooked, add to a board and allow to rest.
  • Cook the sauerkraut in the pan with the steak juice for 3-4 minutes, and serve with the steaks and mustard mayo.

Directions

  • Prepare the prawns by peeling off the inner shell, leaving the heads and tail intact.
  • Make the marinade with the lemon juice, spice paste, and 1 tablespoon of oil, mixing this well. Add the prawns, and set them aside for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Rub the steak with ½ a tablespoon of oil, black pepper, and sea salt, and place on the grill for 5 minutes.
  • Cook for 4 minutes on each side, remove and place on a plate to rest.
  • Cook the prawns for 3 minutes on each side.
  • Prepare a salad with lime juice, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Peel, destone and chop the mango and add to the bowl, along with grated carrot, sliced spring onions, and cashew nuts (see also ‘27 Tasty And Delicious Mango Recipes‘).
  • Slice the mint leaves and remove the coconut flesh from the shell, grating this into the mixture with the mint leaves, and toss everything well.

  • 1 sprig of fresh thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ a dried smoked chipotle chili
  • 1 tablespoon tequila
  • 1-2 limes
  • ½ a fresh green chili

Directions

  • Remove a few leaves from the coriander, and then chop the rest. Repeat this with the mint leaves.
  • Chop the onions, chili, garlic, and tomato, and mix with the herbs, chopping until all is very fine.
  • Add lime juice and oil to a bowl, and add salt and pepper, along with the chopped ingredients.
  • Create the sauce by adding the seeds and nuts into a pan over a medium heat. Add garlic, oregano, and thyme, and then add the chili. Toast everything for a few minutes.
  • Add to a blender with water, tequila, lime juice, fresh chili, black pepper, and salt, and blend until smooth. Set aside once done.
  • Cut the potatoes into 1cm thick slices, and then remove the fat from the steak. Place the fat into a cold pan, and cook over medium heat until golden. Add the chilies and potatoes and cook for 7-8 minutes on each side. Add the potatoes to a plate and keep warm in the oven.
  • Add salt and pepper to season the steak, and cook it in the pan for around 7 minutes. Remove from the heat, drizzle with oil and allow to rest.
  • Spread the sauce on a platter, and place the steak on top to serve.
