28 Easy Desserts Sure To Leave Your Guests In Awe Of Your Cooking Skills

Dessert time is arguably the best part of any meal. No matter how full you and your guests are, there is always room left for dessert.

And you’ll want to make sure that it’s a good one. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of the best, tastiest, and fanciest deserts about.

28 Easy Desserts Sure To Leave Your Guests In Awe Of Your Cooking Skills

Whether you have the sweetest tooth going and want nothing but cream and chocolate, or whether you much prefer a lighter, healthier, fruity dessert, I have a recipe for you.

You’ll no longer have the issue of not knowing what to make, you’ll just have to try and decide which ones not to make.

1. No-Bake Cheesecake With A Surprise Inside

Who doesn’t adore a great-tasting cheesecake? Well, this recipe takes that to the next level.

Cut down the middle of this scrumptious pud and you’ll find a chocolate-covered strawberry inside.

It’s an elegant treat that tastes great. And that creamy cheesecake filling combined with the juicy fruit and hint of chocolate – it’s a wonder to behold.

2. Baked Ricotta Cake

I hear the word ricotta in any recipe and you’ve instantly piqued my interest.

But there is just something about ricotta in a pud that has my mouth instantly watering. And this cake is as good as ricotta deserts come.

It is absolutely delicious. You’ll need to prepare this at least a day in advance but it’s still relatively simple to make.

3. Cheesecake Brownies

Stuck between your two favorite deserts? Why sacrifice one when you can eat them both together!

These look so pretty and are sure to impress your guests.

And once you take that first bite and taste that sticky gooey brownie mix combined with those creamy cheesecake swirls, you’re sure to believe you’ve tasted a little piece of heaven.

4. Lemon Meringue Pie

A slightly crispy and crunch base, slathered in a delicious lemon mixture and then topped with fluffy dollops of meringue – how could you go wrong?

And it’s so simple to make. Just be sure to grab yourself a kitchen blowtorch to give the desert that professional touch at the end.

5. Dark Chocolate Tart

This is such an easy dessert to make but it is so rich and decadent.

You’ll have a nice thin cookie crust and then a thick and heavy chocolate ganache that features more chocolate than it does cream – yum.

Drizzle with some scrumptious caramel sauce and sprinkle a small amount of sea salt over the top to really master the presentation.

6. White Chocolate And Ginger Mud Cake

While this recipe does take about 2 hours to cook, the prep time is just 20 minutes long, so it won’t require much effort on your part.

This tastes so good and once you pour the oozing gooey caramel over the top, you’re sure to have your guests desperate to tuck into their slice of cake.

7. Crepe Cake

What is better than a delicious fluffy crepe. Several delicious fluffy crepes.

I’ll break it to you now, stacking this bad boy together can take some time(since you’ll have to cook each pancake one at a time) and a fair bit of patience, but the end result is worth the slight temper tantrum or two.

The ratio of sweet cream to crepe is perfect and it’s such a moreish treat. And you could always get imaginative and add your favorite toppings and fillings.

Nutella instead of the sweet cream is always a great option for chocolate lovers (see also ‘Delicious Nutella Recipes‘).

8. Frozen Caramel Slice

What a perfect pudding for the warmer weather. This delicious treat involves a yummy crumbly shortcake base, chocolate, and caramel.

It’s super easy to make and can then be kept in the freezer so they are ready for ad-hoc entertaining.

I’d make a big batch of these though because after one bite you won’t be a fan of sharing.

9. French Apple Cake

Since the french are culinary experts, it only seems right that we pinch a recipe or two from them.

And let me tell you this much, this apple cake is absolutely divine.

Big fat chunks of apple are added to the cake batter to ensure a cake with fantastic flavor and locked in moisture.

10. Samoa Dessert Lasagna

Sure layers of pasta, beef, sauce, and cheese are delicious. But do you know what is better?

A sweet layered recreation of your favorite cookies.

It consists of a coconutty crust with a gooey caramel layer, chocolate pudding layer, cream cheese layer, and then is topped with coconut flakes, chocolate chips, and warm caramel sauce (for the best Dulce De Leche recipes, read here). I’m drooling!

11. Eton Mess

If it isn’t broken don’t fix it! While there are lots of inventive dessert ideas on this list, you simply can’t ignore some classics.

And this Eton mess is sure to go down a treat. You can never go wrong with strawberries cream and meringue.

Plus, you don’t have to worry about presentation here, mess is literally in the name, so it doesn’t matter if it looks a little ragged around the edges.

12. Chocolate Flutternutter Pie

This one is for all the peanut butter lovers out there.

This pie is a new twist on a peanut butter pie, but in this recipe, we’re ditching the whipped cream for a marshmallow cream topping instead.

To really top this off you’ll want to drizzle tons of sauce over the tip and add some chocolate shavings too.

13. Death By Chocolate Trifle

The dark chocolate contrasting next to the white cream layers of this dessert makes it look absolutely stunning.

I love a standard trifle as much as the next person, but offer me a chocolate option and I’ll be chomping at the bit (quite literally) for it.

This desert does truly have it all, brownies, pudding, cream, and toffee bars. Wow. You might want to keep some napkins close by for this one.

14. Copycat Dole Pineapple Whip

Now I am a sweet-tooth fiend, but sometimes you want a lighter, fruitier option for dessert (see also ‘21 Birthday Dessert Options‘).

This is especially the case in the hotter weather, and what better refreshing treat than a copycat version of Disney’s Pineapple Whip.

As far as imitation recipes go, this one is great. Try it yourself and see if you can spot the difference.

15. Strawberry Cake

This strawberry cake is so heavenly. You’ll be sure to have your guests asking for seconds with this one, and the recipe itself is nice and simple.

You’ll have a light and fluffy vanilla cake with a scrumptious strawberry filling which is then encased in a delightful strawberry buttercream.

Once all assembled it looks so soft and pretty.

16. Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwiches

Cookie dough and ice cream, what an eternally good (and super tasty) duo.

These bad boys are sure to have your guests begging for the recipe but be forewarned no regular ice cream sandwich will ever do once you’ve tasted these.

They are the absolute best that you can get – so I’d recommend making a few extra of these.

17. French Hot Chocolate

If you’ve ever tried french hot chocolate, I need to say no more, you already know.

However, for those of you that haven’t had the absolute privilege, just know it’s an absolute show stopper.

This isn’t any ordinary hot chocolate, oh no, it’s a thick, rich, and creamy ganache made from chocolate and a hint of espresso powder.

I would travel to France for this delicacy alone!

18. Red Velvet Cake

Rich chocolate cake with a creamy cream cheese frosting? Um, yes, please!

As far as cake flavor combinations go, this has got to be in pretty much everybody’s top three.

It’s such a popular choice and any budding baker should always have a good red velvet recipe in their arsenal.

19. Chocolate Covered Strawberries – Tuxedo-Style

If you’ve got a bridal shower, hen do, or stag do coming up that you’re catering for you need to have a go at these tuxedo-style strawberries.

And hey, if you don’t, just make them to show off your skills!

Everybody adores a chocolate-covered strawberry, but one with a cute and fancy design is going to be so much more impressive.

20. S’mores Grilled Cheese

Want to make something a little different, something unique? Well, this recipe is certainly those things.

This is the ultimate mash-up of french toast and smores, and my, oh, my is it tasty!

You might want to ensure that you give your guests some napkins with this one because there’s no way to avoid it, things are about to get messy.

21. Berry Vanilla Cheesecake Parfaits

There’s nothing like a load of fresh fruit to give your desert a burst of color.

This dessert looks divine thanks to some chopped-up strawberries and delicious blueberries (see also ‘27 Brilliant Blueberry Dessert Recipes’).

The fruit with the mix of cheesecake filling makes for a wonderfully light but flavorsome dessert.

22. Snickers Egg Rolls

Now this recipe is so easy that it’s borderline ridiculous.

But just because something is super simple doesn’t mean its not a super tasty treat.

Try these once and a regular snickers bar will never be an option – you’ll only want them in this form!

Melt some chocolate for dipping for the ultimate indulgent experience.

23. French Lemon Tart

Picture this, it’s a hot summers day and it’s time for a tasty dessert. Are you opting for something super heavy and sickly?

Of course not, you want something light and refreshing with a bit of a tang to it.

Well then, you’ll need to make you and your guests a slice of this delightful french lemon tart.

Serve with some cream for the best experience.

24. Salted Caramel Fondue

Fondue is the ultimate party experience. It’s a great way to gather everyone around as they dip and dunk their favorite snacks into a pool of melted goodness.

But chocolate fondue is so overdone, and you want something that’s going to leave your guests impressed, so opt for this salty and sweet caramel sauce instead.

The only thing left to decide is what to dip in it! A fresh and crisp apple slice always goes down well in my house!

25. Strawberry Panna Cotta

Let’s take the elegant and delicious vanilla panna cotta and make it even better! How? I hear you ask.

By adding strawberries, of course. Here’s a tip for you though, strain your strawberry juice, then strain again, and maybe even once more for good measure.

This will ensure that you get that glossy velvety finish that will have your guests super impressed with your presentation skills.

26. Slutty Brownie Pie

Cookie dough. Brownies. Oreo cookies. Chocolate pudding. Cool whip (see also ‘30+ Easy To Make Cool Whip Recipes‘). Have I caught your attention yet?

Yep, you read that right. All of your favorite treats combined together to make the yummiest, scrummiest, dessert to ever exist.

You might want to go easy on the slices when you make this concoction, don’t let your hunger get the better of you, this is one sickly piece of pie that’s going to keep you full for hours.

I hope you saved room from dinner!

27. Banana Pudding Poke Cake

Poke cake is super tasty and this banana pudding (see also ‘A Bunch of Banana-Flavored Desserts: 31 Sweet Recipes‘) version is one of my absolute favorite kinds.

A delicious and moist cake is topped with vanilla pudding, a creamy topping, and some, of coure, banana too.

This is such a moreish dessert and you’ll definitely be going for seconds.

28. Coconut Cream Cups

Do you go nuts for coconut? Then you’re going to be a big fan of these tasty little treats.

They are so dainty and cute but are still packed to the brim with gorgeous flavors.

These little cups are made with cookie dough and are then filled with vanilla pudding and topped with whipped cream and toasted coconut.

Be warned though, they are so easy to munch on, so snack at your own risk.

I can easy polish away six or seven of these in one go, so you might want to make sure you make enough to go around – they’ll disappear quickly!

Final Thoughts

Hopefully, you’ll have seen from this article that super tasty desserts don’t have to be difficult to make.

In fact some of the very tastiest meals are actually the easiest to make.
