1. French Fries

When ordering a 4 for $4 meal at Wendy’s, you have a selection of either Jr., Medium, or Large fries to choose from.

These are all natural-cut fries and can come with various dipping sauces. And, it is no surprise to learn that these come with Wendy’s famous, and beloved crispy texture. 

If they’re in need of some extra salt, you can ask for some more on the side. But, most of the time, these delicious fries will be perfect just the way they are. 

2. Jr. Cheeseburger

That’s right, you can enjoy a delicious, juicy cheeseburger at Wendy’s as part of the 4 for $4 meal.

This timeless option comprises a small hamburger patty, laid out on a bread bun, and topped with melted American cheese.

It also comes with pickles, onions, mustard, and a generous serving of ketchup.

You can ask for a range of extras with this burger, too. If you would like some extra crunch, and something healthy, we suggest adding some tomato and/or lettuce into the mix.

And, if you feel like something different from the standard American cheese, you can change things up with pepper Jack or Asiago cheese, instead. 

Although smaller than the original Wendy’s cheeseburger, the Jr. cheeseburger is ideal for kids or if you just want something to line your stomach.

3. Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger

Sometimes, a burger on its own just isn’t enough. Thankfully, Wendy’s has thought about this with their Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger.

One of the most popular on Wendy’s menu, this burger comes with a small hamburger patty, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, mayonnaise, and American cheese.

All packed into a fresh sandwich bun, this is one tasty treat.

As with the Jr. Hamburger, you can customize your order and add an assortment of extras to your burger, such as different types of cheese, and veggies.

We recommend adding some honey mustard sauce to this burger for the perfect finishing touch.

4. Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe

We’re not done with Wendy’s Jr. cheeseburgers just yet! Another popular item on the 4 for $4 menu is the Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe. Essentially, this is a Jr. Cheeseburger but with additional, delectable toppings. 

As with the Jr. Cheeseburger, the Deluxe version comes with a small hamburger patty, onions, pickles, American cheese, ketchup, and mustard.

However, this burger also comes with tomatoes, extra onions and pickles, lettuce, and mayonnaise. 

There is also the option of adding applewood smoked bacon into the mix, too, as well as different sauces and cheeses.

We recommend choosing bourbon bacon sauce with the Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe, and swapping the American cheese with Asiago cheese. If you love bacon, this is the one to go for!

5. Chicken Nuggets

It doesn’t get much better than Wendy’s chicken nuggets when it comes to fast food. Famous for their crispy texture and extremely tasty flavor, these chicken nuggets are a must on the 4 for $4 menu.

You get 4 pieces of chicken nuggets to accompany your meal and you can choose either traditional nuggets or, if you’re brave enough, spicy chicken nuggets.

And, you can’t order these without ordering some dipping sauce, too.

Some of our favorites include ghost pepper ranch, barbecue sauce, hot honey, honey mustard, buttermilk ranch, sweet and sour, and the classic ketchup.

If you love spice, though, we recommend the ghost pepper ranch. If the nuggets are for kids, the best dips are sweet and sour or traditional barbecue sauces.

6. Crispy Chicken BLT

Just the name alone is enough to make your mouth water! Wendy’s Crispy Chicken BLT blends the classic BLT with crispy chicken to make something that is a true innovation in the fast food world.

We’ll stick with crispy chicken with another favorite on the 4 for $4 menu. Featuring Wendy’s famous crispy chicken patty, this sandwich also comes with mayonnaise and lettuce inside a soft, mouth-watering bun. 

Unlike the original crispy chicken sandwich, this doesn’t come with all the toppings. Therefore, you may want to order some extras with it.

Although a simple sandwich, this Crispy Chicken delight can help spark your creativity. Put your chef’s hat on and choose from a range of extras, such as cheeses, sauces, bacon, and vegetables. 

We highly recommend adding applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese sauce, and some tomato to the sandwich for the best possible taste. 

8. Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich

Add this with some bacon jam, and the contrast of the fresh avocado with the spicy chicken is breathtaking. 

9. Double Stack

We return to Wendy’s wondrous cheeseburger selection with the Double Stack.

Made with two small hamburger patties, onions, ketchup, American cheese, and pickles inside a soft bread bun, this is one of the most filling options on the 4 for $4 menu. 

Don’t forget, you can pair the Double Stack with three other food items off the menu. Also, you can customize this burger like most on the 4 for $4 menu.

You can change the sauces, cheese, and veggies to your preference. We suggest adding tomato and lettuce to complete the burger, and maybe a little mayonnaise. 

As the largest sandwich on the 4 for $4 Wendy’s menu, the Double Stack is perfect if you’re in need of something hearty or need fuel for the whole day. Best of all, it’s supremely delicious. 

10. A Small Beverage

Whatever food you order on the 4 for $4 menu, it will not be complete without a cool, refreshing drink. On the other hand, you may want a hot beverage. Wendy’s has you covered on both fronts.

Whilst a classic soda is our favorite choice, you can choose from a wide selection of drinks, such as:

Wendy’s 4 For $4 History

Wendy’s has been one of the most popular fast-food restaurants in the United States for many years.

If you check the sales alone, Wendy’s restaurants are in the U.S., you will see that it only sits behind the world-famous arches of McDonald’s.

Compared to Burger King, Wendy’s has overtaken the fast-food giant as the number two choice in America. 

This success can be attributed to many factors, but there is no doubt that Wendy’s signature items on its menus and trademark, unbeatable deals are key.

Quirky foods such as chili and potatoes can only be found at Wendy’s and no other fast-food giant.

Wendy’s is one of a kind and has been since it was started in 1969 by Dave Thomas.

But, although popular, this wasn’t enough for the company. Therefore, innovations have been introduced, such as the 4 for $4 menu.

Everyone loves a good deal, and it doesn’t get much better than the 4 for $4 choices at Wendy’s. For less than 5 bucks, customers can enjoy a cheeseburger, fries, chicken nuggets, and a drink!

Unsurprisingly, this menu became one of, if not, the most popular promotions in Wendy’s history. The fast food industry is competitive and Wendy’s is up for a fight.

The 4 for $4 Wendy’s menu is just another step in super value fast-food deals.

Wendy’s, and many other fast-food chains, have offered great promotions in the past, but the 4 for $4 menu became an instant hit with customers and remains so to this day.

Introduced in 2015, this menu’s first incarnation was similar to a French Prix Fixe meal. In other words, it was fixed at a price and consisted of a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, four chicken nuggets, small fries, and a soft drink. 

In 2014, Wendy’s had another offer on. This was a package deal comprising a double cheeseburger and small fries for only $2.50.

Of course, other fast-food chains were doing similar deals. KFC had its $5 Fill Ups promotion, which consisted of a fried chicken-type entrée, a side, a cookie, and a drink.

Burger King was offering great discounts via smartphone app coupons. One example was chicken nuggets (10 pieces) for only $1.49.

The 4 For $4 Menu Continues To Evolve

After its early success, Wendy’s decided to take a risk and scrap their initial simple combo meals. With this menu, you were not able to substitute certain items for others, such as cheeses and sauces.

But, to increase customer numbers, Wendy’s expanded and introduced a bountiful supply of new food to the 4 for $4 menu.

Therefore, hungry customers could now choose from dozens of combinations to suit their taste buds. 

The Jr. Cheeseburger joined the menu in 2018 alongside the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe, the grilled Go-Wrap, Spicy-Go Wrap, Double Stack, the Crispy Chicken BLT, and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

However, the chicken nuggets side, French fries, and choice of soft drinks remained the same.

In 2020, the choices changed once more as some items that were selling poorly were taken off the menu, such as the wraps, Jr Cheeseburger Deluxe (since returned), Double Stack (since returned) and Crispy Chicken BLT (since returned).

At this point, spicy chicken nuggets were introduced, which have become very popular with those of a more daring nature.

And, today, the 4 for $4 Wendy’s menu continues to sell well, and we expect it to continue this trend for years to come.
